Check it out. He lost a bottom front tooth. The adult tooth had almost completely come in behind it, so it is almost hard to tell that the tooth is missing.

Alex Scott died in the summer of 2004 of neuroblastoma, which she had been fighting since she was a baby. Her motto was "When life hands you lemons, make lemonade", and in that spirit, she started running lemonade stands to raise money for pediatric cancer research. Though she is gone, the lemonade stands continue, held across the country. - Children's Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation
They sponsor the conference in Chicago. A wonderful organization - Lunch for Life - Saving children one lunch at a time
This is a fundraising effort for the Children's Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation - Pediatric Cancer Foundation
I rode in a Bikeathon to raise money for these guys. Among many worthy projects, they have given money for Dr. Cheung's antibody research at Sloan-Kettering. Elias is directly benefiting from this research now.

The digger arrived!
A digger arrived at our house today and proceeded to dig up the backyard. Malachi and Elias were so excited. I could not tear them away from the window all morning. Here are some photos :

The Dancing Ear of Corn
On Saturday, we went into Manhattan to see the Jamestown festival at the South Street Seaport.

It was beautiful weather, and Malachi and Elias enjoyed everything. There was a children's show that supposedly explained the coming of the English to Virginia, as seen through the eyes of various people in animal costumes that were supposed to represent the animals of the New World. There was a large skunk, a wildcat, a "native american spirit" known as a "windigo", and everyone's favorite, a dancing ear of corn. We liked that ear of corn so much that Tom, Malachi, and Elias posed for a photo afterwards.
